Information from UDC: Newport and Quendon & Rickling Neighbourhood Plan Review Regulation 16 Consultation

Uttlesford District Council has received the submitted Newport and Quendon & Rickling Neighbourhood Plan Review and supporting documents from Newport and Quendon Parish Council and Rickling Parish Council, acting as the qualifying bodies.

The submission was received on 2 June 2026 and has been assessed as meeting the requirements of Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

The Council is now inviting representations on the submitted Plan and accompanying evidence before the documents are considered by an independent examiner.

Consultation Period

  • The Regulation 16 consultation will run for eight weeks, commencing on Monday 13 July 2026 and closing at 23:59 on 7 September 2026. All representations must be received by the Council before the consultation closes.

  • A copy of the Newport Neighbourhood Plan Review document is also available for viewing at the Council Offices, London Road, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB11 4ER.

What Happens Next?

Following the consultation, all representations received will be collated and forwarded to an independent examiner who will determine whether the submitted Plan Review meets the basic conditions and should proceed to referendum.
